Durant: "I made a promise to myself to always honor my Aunt Pearl."

What's Good? Kevin Durant!

The 25-year-old Oklahoma City Thunder star is honoring his late Aunt Pearl in a major way with a special Nike collaboration. In an effort to keep her memory alive, Durant designed the KD VI Aunt Pearl limited edition kicks.

"I made a promise to myself to always honor my Aunt Pearl for the example she set, and the encouragement she gave me to follow my dreams," said Durant. He recalls being inseparable with his aunt as they spent time watching movies, joking and laughing throughout his childhood, before she passed away in 2000 from lung cancer.

The gym shoes feature a pink floral print and highlights of blue with subtle pearls. The design was inspired by a robe that Pearl often wore.

The KD VI Aunt Pearl shoe-- with matching t-shirt and hat-- will be available this month at and select retail locations globally. Proceeds will go to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund to fight against women's cancers through supporting research programs and related projects.
