The folks over at Vanity Fair have heard the complaints loud and clear. This year's Hollywood Issue is a bit more reflective of present-day Tinsletown and it's certainly what's good.
The glossy has long been ridiculed for its annual spread that noticeably left out faces of color (or tucked them behind the fold) despite their success in the biz. Yet after 2013, a year dubbed "The Year of Black Cinema," it was damn near impossible to leave out these undeniable talents.
Oscar nominees Chiwetel Ejiofor and Lupita Nyong'o represent for the critically-acclaimed drama 12 Years A Slave, which has been the frontrunner this awards season. As of late, the supporting actress has been a mag favorite due to her stunning looks and incredible fashion sense-- this VF shoot is no exception.
Fellow stars include Julia Roberts (August: Osage Country), Idris Elba (Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom), George Clooney (Gravity), Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale Station), Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club), Naomie Harris (Mandela: Long Walk Home), Brie Larson (Short Term 12), Chadwick Boseman (42), Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street), and Léa Seydoux (Blue Is the Warmest Color).
The March issue hits newsstands Feb. 7 in New York and Los Angeles and will be available nationwide on Feb. 11.
