With more than two decades in the modeling game, Tyra Banks is still serving face.
The "smize" queen has enjoyed a storied career of her own, but is honoring a group of equally celebrated supermodels in a new exhibition titled "Tyra Banks Presents: 15," photographed by Udo Spreitzenbarth and styled by creative director Ty-Ron Mayes.
All 15 black and white images in the collection are un-retouched and rest on Banks' outstanding ability to channel each model, as well as a talented team of hair and makeup.
"A trademark feature-- a birthmark, gap, or a prominent brow-- comes to symolize a models identity, character, and brand in front of the camera or on the runway," says a statement on Spreitzenbarth's website. "Banks, Spreitzenbarth and the collaborators of 15 have 'captured' the likeness of her colleagues to address the powerful nature of these well-known symbols, while reminding them that 'imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.'"
Banks tweeted out a few teaser images featuring Cindy Crawford (above), Kate Moss and newbie Cara Delevingne ahead of Monday's (Sept. 9) debut in New York City.
"It was amazing to be physically transformed into my idol, @CindyCrawford... #Fierce mole, hair & all!" she wrote.
Other models featured in the project include Linda Evangelista, Lauren Hutton, Jerry Hall, Iman, Twiggy, Brooke Shields, Claudia Schiffer, Carmen Dell'Orefice, Grace Jones, Kate Upton, Karlie Kloss and a re-imagined photo of Banks at age 15.
