Maya Angelou can now add "fashion model" to her long list of professional credits as the newest face of Cole Hann's "Born In 1928" campaign.
The 85-year-old author/poet is just one of three stylish elders who celebrate the brand's eight-decade history with astronaut Jim Lovell, photographer Elliott Erwitt and model China Machado-- all born in (you guessed it) 1928.
"They are all vibrant examples of how timelessness and true style are born out of confidence — and that never expires," said Cole Haan vice president of marketing Erin Riley. "They are as relevant today as they were in the past, and they all represent various perspectives that we thought would resonate with our consumer."
The photos, shot by Daniel Jackson, show Angelou dressed in a long-sleeve black dress, a sting of pearls, glasses and a pair of custom-made Cole Haan leopard kitten heels.
Beginning Sept. 3, the images will appear in Cole Haan stores, the website and on the brand's social media accounts. A video campaign is also set to debut soon.
