Every season has its beauty tips. But many of us think that summer equates to laziness, even with our beauty routines. While the humid heat naturally detoxes our skin and the sun offers us some much needed vitamin D, we can’t skip out on our beauty routines. Here are a few tips to keep your pretty girl routine on point, even when it’s too hot to care.
For The Face:
-Never skip out on SPF, no matter how much melanin you have popping. Everyone needs to wear sunscreen. Go for an SPF of 30 or higher if you can.
-Apply your moisturizer, even if you think the humidity will help your skin stay hydrated. Yes, it’s hot outside and you may not want an extra layer of moisture on your face, but you’d be surprised at how dry you skin can get from staying in the sun all day long. Opt for a lighter lotion or gel moisturizer if you normally use a cream.
For The Body:
-Apply SPF to your body, too. Your entire body, not just your face, needs protection from the sun.
-Exfoliate your body at least once a week. You can even invest in an exfoliating moisturizer to get the job done without even thinking about it.
-Never shave your bikini line right before your trip to the beach or pool. You’ll be exposing sensitive skin that has just been rid of dead skin to chlorine, salt and sunlight. Not a good look. Shave a few hours or a day before.
-Invest in body oil. It’ll give you an extensive time of moisture.
For The Nails:
-Apply cuticle oil daily to keep the skin around your nails (and nail beds) hydrated.
-Be sure to add a nail strengthener to your nails once a week to keep them strong and safe from the dehydrating sun rays.
For A Made Up Face:
-Don’t skip your primer for a longer lasting beat face.
-Find your best tinted moisturizer, if you can, and stick with that on the hotter days to keep your pores from getting too clogged.
-Go waterproof. With your mascara, eye liners and your brow gels. You don’t want any smeared makeup mishaps.
