These technological applications are keeping us in mind...

The beauty tech world is ever growing. From apps that bring hairstylists to your doorstep to virtual makeup technologies that can pinpoint the best red lipstick for your complexion, the cosmetic business is becoming more advanced.

Yet, amongst the hundreds of apps designed for beauty, only a few are dedicated to the needs of Black women. So we decided to find the top five beauty apps that actually care about us.

A Few Ways to Get Over Your Summer Body Insecurities

Mayvenn
The founders of the hair app were tired of Black stylists not making a profit from weaves and extensions. So, they created this technology that makes it seamless and easy to buy hair from Black stylists.

Plum Perfect
Founded by Black female Engineer Asmau Ahmed, this app boasts virtual technology that allows you to upload your un-touched, makeup-free selfie, which leads to you being provided a list of brands and products that would be suitable for your complexion and facial shape. You can immediately buy the products in one click or save them and purchase later.

Myavana
This in-depth hair repair app offers a Microscopic Hair Strand Analysis in exchange for a personalized hair plan. After submitting your hair strands, you’ll receive a full hair report that will be explained via a virtual consultation. Afterwards, depending on the length of your subscription (plans start at $25 a month), you’ll start to get recommended full-size products that have been selected to help repair your hair. So cool, right?

StyleSeat
This free app is suited for Android and iPhone and will help you find the nearest hairstylist, manicurist, and makeup artists when you are in an emergency. The technology is designed for urgent matters and lets you make immediate appointments, while suggesting the best local professionals for your need.

Hair Journal
Want to track the growth and health of your hair? Then hair journal is for you. Free for both the Android and iPhone, Hair Journal allows you to track and chart your growth, document your big chop and reach hair goals. You can even log photos, write notes and keep reviews of all of the products you use for specific styles and such.
