Introducing 25th and June: A Black-Owned, Chic Nail Polish Line

Girl, 'cause a polish owned by one of us is hard to find

You know we love a good black owned beauty brand. Love. However, one of the hardest beauty products to find Black owned is nail polish. The massive lines of lacquers out there are pretty much dominated by nail mega-brands such as Essie, OPI and Sally Hansen.

But 25th and June Nail Elixir, is a welcomed breath of fresh air. Named after owner Nexus Cook’s birthday, the polishes are creamy, rich in color and unapologetically off-trend. Cook follows no one else’s inspiration but her own. The runways don’t move her; her imagination does.  When every other brand was going bold and bright last summer, Cook put out a chocolate brown that sold better than she thought it would.

Impressive, right? Yet, it doesn’t end there. For many women who dream of starting their own beauty lines, the idea of how to really get the process in action is usually the most daunting. But for Cook, it was as simple as doing the research. From there, the magic began.

The five-free formula, which is created without the top five harmful toxins that you can find in many mainstream polishes, can be bought on her website, at $9 a pop.
