If Kerry Washington didn't already have enough on her plate, the Scandal actress has added the task of becoming Neutrogena's new face and creative consultant.
The Emmy-nominated star will lend her hand in the brand's growth, drawing up marketing initiatives and giving product feedback. Washington says she inked the deal because of the "authenticity" of the collaboration.
"I never wanted to partner with a company where I felt like I was losing myself and my sense of authenticity. This is really about working with a company I respect and admire," she told PEOPLE.
"The position is new for me and for them. It's a way to be authentically involved in a real partnership with the company."
Washington admits to being a fan of the brand (she swears by their Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes) and says the new venture will allow her to further talk beauty with her legion of fans.
"Now I can be on an adventure with my fans where I’ll be able to hear feedback on the products," she says. "I live and work in makeup so I have a perspective on how a lip color works after eight hours on the set or an hour on the red carpet."
Washington is slated to begin appearing in ads early next year.
